LIG D&A signs Talent Development MOU with Chung-Ang University

Signing ceremony held for an agreement on a contract-based academic program featuring jointly designed, industry-driven curriculum for talent developmentLIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A), led by President and CEO Shin Ik-hyun, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chung-Ang University to strengthen industry-academia cooperation and cultivate highly skilled talent.
On April 2, LIG D&A and Chung-Ang University held a signing ceremony for an agreement to operate an industry-sponsored, contract-based academic track within the university’s Department of Industrial Security. The program is designed to strengthen industry-academia cooperation and develop highly skilled professionals. The ceremony was attended by Jeon In-seok, Head of Human Resources at LIG D&A; Park Se-hyun, President of Chung-Ang University; and representatives from several other companies.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will work together to establish a practical, industry-oriented talent development framework tailored to current industry demands. By minimizing the gap between university education and real-world industry requirements, they aim to advance higher-education models, strengthen the foundation for corporate growth, and contribute to broader industrial development.
The partnership provides for the joint design of the curriculum and the operation of field-focused educational programs. This will enable LIG D&A to secure outstanding talent capable of responding agilely to the rapidly evolving industrial environment, while allowing Chung-Ang University to further advance its industry-academia cooperation model. Students who successfully complete the academic track and pass the company’s selection process will be guaranteed employment upon graduation.

Meanwhile, a resolution to change the company's corporate name from LIG Nex1 to LIG Defense & Aerospace was approved at the general shareholders' meeting held on March 31, 2026. The new name clarifies the company's identity as a defense contractor with capabilities spanning domains from underwater to space and cyberspace, while reflecting its ambition to become a “global comprehensive defense and aerospace company.”
