LIG D&A signs MOU with South Africa’s Milkor to integrate advanced mission systems into UAV platforms

On April 21 (local time), LIG D&A signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Milkor for technological cooperation on unmanned aerial platforms and integrated mission systems. The agreement was officially signed at the Milkor booth at the Defence and Security Asia (DSA) exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The agreement aims to jointly develop and globally market unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms—an increasingly indispensable asset in modern warfare—along with the advanced mission systems mounted on them. As the two companies have continued to discuss the future direction of unmanned systems through mutual exchanges, they have decided to elevate their relationship beyond technology exchange to a strategic partnership for the joint planning and development of future weapon systems.
Specifically, the companies will pursue comprehensive systems integration of LIG D&A's proprietary mission systems—including active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar and advanced electronic warfare (EW) systems—into Milkor's next-generation UAV platforms. The partnership aims to deliver to the global market an integrated “turnkey solution” capable of performing missions ranging from surveillance and reconnaissance to precision strikes from a single platform.
“When LIG D&A's advanced mission systems meet Milkor's proven UAV platforms, we will create highly competitive solutions capable of leading the global market,” an LIG D&A official said. “We will strive further to develop unmanned systems solutions optimized for the future battlespace, thereby continuously enhancing the global standing of ‘K-Defense’.”
