LIG D&A and Korea Radio Promotion Association hold graduation ceremony for SSEN Embedded Software School Cohort 3

A total of 1,000 hours of hands-on training completed over six months through a curriculum tailored to the Korean defense industry
LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A) is accelerating its efforts to train and recruit highly skilled software engineers who will help shape the future of the Korean defense industry (“K-Defense”).
On June 9, LIG D&A and the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) held a graduation ceremony for the third cohort of LIG D&A’s The SSEN Embedded Software School, a joint educational program designed to train embedded software specialists for the defense sector.
The ceremony, held at LIG D&A's Pangyo House, featured opening remarks, a congratulatory address, project presentations, the presentation of certificates, and awards for outstanding teams. Key officials from both organizations attended the event to congratulate and encourage the graduates.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of projects completed under the close guidance of industry mentors throughout their training. The projects included an on-device AI-based intelligent EO/IR system and an underwater weapon system.
The SSEN Embedded Software School is a hands-on training program tailored to the Korean defense industry and run jointly by LIG D&A and RAPA as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's K-Digital Training Initiative, under its Leading Companies Academy for High-Tech and Digital Industries program. Building on high satisfaction and positive outcomes achieved by previous cohorts, the third cohort successfully completed an intensive 1,000-hour curriculum over six months.
All 24 graduates will be eligible to apply through LIG D&A’s special recruitment process, which will start with application review in June, with onboarding expected to be completed in July.
The student representative spoke on behalf of the graduating class: “It was an invaluable experience to be able to complete defense-focused projects using the latest technologies in an engineering environment that closely mirrors real-world industry practices. I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to our mentors for their dedicated guidance over the past six months and to my fellow trainees for their hard work.”
An LIG D&A official said, “We will ensure that the special recruitment process for the graduates runs smoothly. Going forward, we will continue to expand diverse programs to discover and nurture top-tier talent who will help drive the growth of K-Defense.”
With 14 graduates from the first and second classes already joining LIG D&A, this program has firmly established itself as a key talent pipeline for developing and recruiting highly qualified software engineers for K-Defense.
