LIG D&A and Strategic Command sign MOU to build a strategic partnership

LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) Strategic Command have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a strategic partnership. The signing ceremony, which was held at the Strategic Command headquarters on June 30, was attended by key leadership from both parties, including Shin Ik-hyun, President and CEO of LIG D&A, and Lieutenant General Park Jae-yeol, Commander of the Strategic Command.
The two parties agreed to work closely together to help build a technologically advanced and highly capable military while advancing the ROK's defense capabilities.
Under the MOU, LIG D&A and the Strategic Command will pursue comprehensive cooperation across a broad range of critical and emerging technologies, including electromagnetic warfare, cyber-electronic warfare, and lasers. To facilitate cooperation in areas of mutual interest related to weapon systems, they will also establish a practical collaboration framework to promote mutual growth through technology exchange and broader cooperation.
“We welcome this opportunity to strengthen our cooperation with the Strategic Command, which oversees the ROK's response to nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threats,” said Shin Ik-hyun, LIG D&A CEO, adding “Building on our multi-layered integrated air defense solutions spanning low, medium, and high altitudes with flagship systems such as the M-SAM II and L-SAM, LIG D&A will do its utmost to support and enhance the defense capabilities of the ROK Armed Forces.”
